This backdrop displays a wireframe grid in the scene.

Grid backdrop Node properties

Field name Default value Description
Grid backdrop 3D Backdrops
AttachToSocket <empty> Parent socket name to which the backdrop should be attached. (Experimental, reserved for future use)
Position { 0, 0, 0 } Backdrop position
EulerOrientation { 0, 0, 0 } Backdrop orientation angles in radians
UniformScale 1.0 Backdrop scale
ApplyScaleToChilds false New v1.11.0 If enabled, will scale all the child backdrops by 'UniformScale'
Grid backdrop General
Width 10.0 Width of the grid in world units
PrimarySubdivisions 10 Number of primary subdivisions
SecondarySubdivisions 10 Number of secondary subdivisions

SecondaryColor { 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 1.0 } Color of the secondary subdivision lines
Grid backdrop Physics
EnableCollisions true Toggles collisions with the grid.
InfinitePlaneCollision false If enabled, the collision plane will be infinite. If disabled, it will be limited to the grid size
DoubleSidedCollision true If unchecked, particles won't collide when coming up under the grid
SurfaceRestitution -1 Restitution of the surface. Negative values means use the project setting's default surface restitution.
SurfaceFriction -1 Friction of the surface. Negative values means use the project setting's default surface friction.
RestitutionCombineMode ProjectDefault Defines how the particle restitution and contact surface restitution are combined.
  • Project Default : uses the combine mode defined in the project settings
  • Average : averages both restitutions : (a+b)/2
  • Multiply : multiplies both restitutions together : a*b
  • Min : uses the smallest restitution : min(a,b)
  • Max : uses the largest restitution : max(a,b)
FrictionCombineMode ProjectDefault Defines how the particle friction and contact surface friction are combined.
SurfaceType -1 Type of the surface. Negative values means use the project setting's default surface type. This is what will be reported by scene.intersectExt
CollisionFilter 0 Collision filter
